La Escepción Selectos Reales - Regional Edition italy

A true rarity among Regional Editions, the La Escepción Selectos Reales revives one of Cuba's most historic names. It is the third and final chapter of the La Escepción trilogy, released exclusively for Italy to mark 25 years of Diadema S.p.A., the country's official Habanos distributor. Production is limited to 4,000 numbered cabinets of 50 cigars.

La Escepción was founded in the mid-19th century by José Gener Batet, the Spanish-born tobacco man best remembered as the creator of Hoyo de Monterrey. Long regarded as a sister brand to Hoyo, it built a reputation for richly flavoured cigars before production ended in 1989. For more than two decades the name lay dormant, until Diadema persuaded Habanos S.A. to bring it back in 2011 with the Selectos Finos, followed by the Don José in 2015. Unlike almost every other Regional Edition, La Escepción is not part of the regular Habanos portfolio, which makes each release a notable event for collectors.

The Selectos Reales is a belicoso, measuring 52 ring gauge by 140mm (5 1/2"), the same elegant tapered shape as the celebrated Bolívar Belicosos Finos. Made entirely by hand in Cuba.

Dressed in three bands rather than the customary two, including a commemorative band celebrating Diadema's 25th anniversary alongside the red and silver Edición Regional Italia band, and presented in a numbered cabinet of 50, the Selectos Reales is a fitting close to the trilogy and a genuine collector's treasure.
